Making Waves is a new festival created and produced by UK Arts International and Looping The Loop, and supported by Arts Council England, SECCADS and Margate Now.

UK ARTS International

Now based in Margate, UK Arts International was formed by Jan Ryan in 1992 to set up tours of theatre and dance productions. The company soon gained a reputation, not only for touring quality work from the UK, but also for presenting innovative theatre, dance and music from around the world which embraced a wide range of cultures and contemporary issues – bringing together the international and the intercultural.

Looping The Loop

Looping the Loop was set up in 2012 by a consortia of producers based in Thanet, which is currently Ellie Jones, Bindlestick Theatre Co and Ramsgate arts. We make festivals, projects and pop up with our street theatre actors, creating mayhem, joy and beautiful contemporary live performance. We support local artists in developing and presenting new performance works and run a professional networking programme with Theatre Network Thanet (TNT) and FLEX workshops. We are proud to be part of Battersea Arts Centre’s Collaborative Touring Network, a partnership between nine towns and theatre promoters across the UK.
